Shoes and Brews
If there’s anything that Colorado adventure seekers know is that the best way to celebrate physical accomplishments (or just a great workout) is with a tasty beer. Whether you’ve just summited that 14er or finished a maintenance run or ride, enjoying that first post-workout beer is a treat! You can also participate in Shoes & Brews weekly social run on Wednesday or Thursday and your pint is half-price.
Inspired by a bicycle shop plus brewery in Ft. Collins, Shoes & Brews is a specialty running store with a joint taproom/brewery serving over 20 of Colorado’s finest craft brews. Shoes & Brews opened 2014 and has quickly grown to be a go-to-source for running gear, good beer and local 5k races (that include beer festival finish line parties). As with a lot of Longmont’s breweries, Shoes & Brews is a family and dog friendly establishment. Kids can play giant Connect-Four and Jenga, and gather all your smart friends Friday night for Trivia Night! In addition to their weekly Wednesday and Thursday night social runs, you can give it a go at an 800 meter run challenge. Your finish time could translate to your beer price (i.e. run 800 meters in 3 mins and 12 secs and you only pay $3.12 for a 12 oz beer). Pro Tip: When you purchase a new pair of running shoes, your first pint is free! Also, if you want to break in those new kicks, you can walk about a mile along the St. Vrain river path to Left Hand Brewing taproom 🙂
